Overview

The D4G0206 is a micro PLC-style programmable delay module that replaces stacks of fixed-function time relays and hard-wired relay logic panels. Instead of ladder logic, it is programmed by drawing a schematic in host-computer software, so engineers without PLC training can build timing, counting and interlock logic and load it onto a compact industrial module.

It provides 6 non-isolated digital/analog inputs (0-35V DC) and 4 relay or transistor outputs rated up to 8A each, communicates over RS-485 or TTL (selectable) for Modbus networking, and runs from an 11-24V DC reverse-protected supply (max 28V) drawing no more than 250mA running and 35mA standby.

Features & Benefits

Draw the logic, don't write it - no ladder, no C, no PLC course

The control sequence is drawn as a schematic in the host-PC software and downloaded over the B/A terminals. There is no ladder logic and no C code, so an electrician who can read a flowchart is productive on day one instead of after a week of PLC training. When the process changes you redraw the diagram and re-download - the panel wiring never moves.

6 in / 4 out in 72 x 88 x 59mm - one part replaces a row of time relays

Six 0-35V DC input channels and four outputs sit in a housing the size of your palm. Each output can run its own delay, timing, counting or interlock, and channels can be linked together, so a job that used to need four or five separate time-delay relays plus the interlock wiring between them collapses into one part - fewer terminals, fewer wires, fewer failure points, one line on the BOM.

8A per channel drives the contactor directly - no interposing relay

Each potential-free contact carries up to 8A at 0-30V DC or 0-220V AC, enough to switch an AC contactor coil, a solenoid valve or a beacon straight from the module. Logic modules in this size class usually stop at signal-level contacts and force you to buy and wire an interposing relay for every output; here that whole intermediate stage disappears from the panel.

Analog goes straight in - the AI card comes off the bill

Any of the six channels accepts an analog voltage as well as a dry contact, so a temperature/humidity transmitter, a pressure transmitter or a raw battery voltage wires directly to A0-A5 and is compared against a threshold inside the module. No separate analog input card, no extra rail space, and up to 35V of headroom on the signal.

Relay or transistor output on the same logic platform

Order the relay version for AC contactors, solenoid valves and mixed AC/DC loads (potential-free, 0-30V DC or 0-220V AC, 8A), or the transistor version for DC-only loads that switch frequently (sinking, 12-48V DC, 8A). The programming, the terminals and the schematic you already drew stay the same - only the output device changes, so one platform covers a whole machine range.

Three layers of power protection sized for real field wiring

The 11-24V DC input (max 28V) is guarded by a reverse-polarity diode, a transient-suppression diode and a self-resetting fuse. Cross plus and minus at commissioning and nothing burns; a surge on the line is clamped rather than passed through; an overcurrent event clears itself with no fuse to find and replace. Standby draw is only 35mA, which suits battery- and solar-backed cabinets.

Branded relays with a dedicated snubber - the contacts survive the arc

The output stage uses genuine branded relays with a purpose-fitted absorption component that kills the contact spark. Measured on the bench, the output rides out the 400Vp-p induced spike that appears the instant a contactor drops out - the event that quietly erodes contacts and shortens the life of cheaper modules. Longer contact life means fewer service calls on machines you have already shipped.

RS-485 / TTL edge node, with RTC and wireless as order-time options

The B/A terminals give RS-485 or TTL (selectable) for Modbus, so the module reports to a host PLC, an HMI touch panel or a gateway while still running its logic locally - the machine keeps working if the network drops. Add the RTC option and it runs to a time-of-day schedule (fixed start/stop, off-peak windows); add the wireless remote option and you get cable-free local control, which is what retrofit jobs usually need.

Applications

Small Equipment and Non-Standard Machine ControlPackaging, filling and cleaning machines use the schematic programming to handle start/stop sequencing, limit interlocks and fault protection, replacing a relay control cabinet with fewer wires and faster changeovers.
Pump and Fan SchedulingCombined with the optional RTC, the module runs time-segmented pump/fan schedules such as off-peak night operation, and with level or pressure switches it handles automatic refill and over-pressure protection across multiple rotating pumps.
Building and Lighting Time-Based AutomationStreet lights, signage and landscape lighting switch on scheduled times via RTC, or trigger from light-level/radar signals; the optional wireless remote adds cable-free local control for retrofit projects.
Temperature and Environmental InterlockAnalog inputs connect directly to temperature/humidity or pressure transmitters, and threshold values automatically start or stop heating, ventilation or solenoid-valve actuators for simple environmental control.
Distributed Data Acquisition and Remote MonitoringAs an RS-485/Modbus edge node, the module reads digital and analog signals on site, runs local logic, and reports up to a host PLC or HMI touch panel to build a small distributed control network.
Agriculture, Aquaculture and IoT AutomationGreenhouse roll-up curtains, irrigation valves and aerators run on a schedule or from sensor triggers, with the optional wireless remote for manual override and industrial-grade protection for damp, dusty sites.

How to Select

  1. Choose the D4G0206 over a fixed-function time-delay relay when the application needs more than a single on-delay/off-delay behavior; it is a freely programmable logic platform, not a single fixed timer.
  2. Choose the D4G0206 over a plain relay module when the application needs logic between input and output, not just a direct pass-through or simple trigger.
  3. For 6-input/4-output applications, the D4G0206 is smaller, lower cost and easier to program than a full-size PLC, while still offering RS-485 networking as a distributed I/O node.
  4. Add the RTC option if the application needs scheduled operation, such as fixed start/stop times or time-segmented control.
  5. Add the wireless remote option if the application needs cable-free local or remote operation.
  6. Use the standard configuration (digital input + relay output + RS-485) for wired logic control with no scheduling or remote-control requirement.
  7. Select relay output for AC contactors, solenoid valves and mixed AC/DC loads; select transistor output for DC-only loads that need high-frequency switching.

When NOT to specify the D4G0206 — and what to use instead

Fixed plug-and-play delay/timer behavior is wanted with no programming step

Why not: The D4G0206 has no default timing behavior out of the box - the control sequence must be drawn as a schematic in host-computer software and downloaded before first use.

Use instead: E4J0101 or B2J0601 (fixed-function delay/timer relay, ready to use without programming)

More than 6 inputs or 4 outputs are needed on a single board

Why not: The D4G0206 is fixed at 6 digital/analog inputs and 4 relay/transistor outputs; there is no larger-I/O version of this module.

Use instead: a full-size PLC, or multiple D4G0206 units networked over its RS-485/TTL port

The application needs hard real-time or safety-rated logic (e-stop, guard interlock, SIL/PL-rated stop function)

Why not: The D4G0206 carries no safety rating (no Type/SIL/PL); it is a general-purpose schematic-programmed micro PLC, not a certified safety controller, and its outputs are not OSSDs.

Use instead: DA31 Emergency-Stop Safety Relay Module or DQSRN Safety Relay Module - never use the D4G0206 in a machine safety function

No PC or configuration software is available on site to set or view parameters

Why not: All D4G0206 logic is authored in host-computer software and downloaded over the B/A terminals; the base module has no digit display or keypad for stand-alone on-device programming.

Use instead: E4J0101 / E4J0102 / E4J0103 (on-board digit-tube display and keys for standalone field setup)

Only a single simple on-delay or off-delay timing function is required

Why not: Drawing and downloading a schematic for one basic timing function is more setup effort than the job needs; the D4G0206 is built for multi-channel or interlocked logic, not as a single-timer replacement.

Use instead: E4J0101 or B2J0601 (fixed-function delay/timer relay)

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the D4G0206 micro PLC module?
It is a multi-functional intelligent programmable delay module that uses graphical schematic programming instead of ladder logic. It has 6 non-isolated digital/analog inputs and 4 relay or transistor outputs, and can be used as a time-relay module for single-channel or multi-channel interlock logic.
How do I program the D4G0206 without PLC training?
You draw the control logic as a schematic in host-computer software instead of writing ladder logic. Placing and connecting function blocks builds the action sequence, which is then downloaded to the module.
What is the difference between the relay output and transistor output versions?
Relay output is a potential-free contact for 0-30V DC or 0-220V AC loads, rated up to 8A. Transistor output is a sinking output for 12-48V DC loads only (no AC), also rated up to 8A. Wiring differs between the two, so check the datasheet for your specific model.
Does the D4G0206 support RS-485 and Modbus communication?
Yes. It has dedicated B/A communication terminals with RS-485 or TTL selectable, allowing it to connect with a host PLC, a transparent-transmission module or an HMI touch panel for Modbus networking.
Can the D4G0206 run on a schedule or be triggered remotely?
Yes, as options. An optional RTC (real-time clock) adds scheduled, time-of-day triggering, and an optional wireless remote control adds cable-free local or remote triggering. The standard configuration is digital input + relay output + RS-485.
How rugged is the D4G0206 against electrical disturbance?
It is built for industrial environments to IEC61000-6-1-2006: tested to 4kV ESD with normal operation on all input and power terminals, and 2kV/5kHz EFT with normal operation (up to 4kV without damage, though optional wireless/RTC functions may briefly malfunction at that level). The power input includes reverse-polarity, transient and overcurrent protection, and it operates from -20C to 60C.
Is the D4G0206 certified to international safety standards?
Certification documents are available on request.
