Overview
DQSRN is a DIN-rail-mounted safety relay module (also referred to in DAIDISIKE's catalog as a safety monitoring relay) that takes a safety input device — an E-stop button, a safety light curtain's OSSD outputs, a safety door interlock switch, or a two-hand control device — and, once it detects the input is in its safe/actuated state, opens forcibly guided output contacts to cut power to hazardous machine motion.
It is intended for machine builders, panel integrators, and safety engineers who need a single, DIN-rail-mounted relay to interface one of these four input types into a machine's safety circuit, and who may want to standardize on one relay model rather than stocking a different relay for each input type. Via DIP switch, the installer selects which of the four input modes DQSRN monitors, and the module is rated Category 4 / PL e per EN ISO 13849-1 and SIL 3 per IEC 61508.

Instead of choosing a different dedicated relay for each type of safety device, DQSRN lets the installer select via DIP switch which input it monitors: E-stop button, safety light curtain OSSD (single- or dual-channel PNP), safety door interlock, or two-hand control device. One module covers four common machine-safety input types, cutting spare-part inventory and selection errors.
Category 4 / PL e per EN ISO 13849-1, SIL 3 per IEC 61508
This is the highest safety category and performance level defined by EN ISO 13849-1, and the highest safety integrity level commonly specified for machine safety functions — suitable for high-risk machine safety circuits.
3 N.O. safety contacts + 1 N.C. auxiliary contact, forcibly guided design
Three normally-open contacts can switch multiple loads (e.g. two contactors plus a valve) while the normally-closed auxiliary contact feeds a status signal back to a PLC or indicator. The forcibly guided mechanism ensures the N.O. and N.C. contacts can never be closed at the same time, so a welded/stuck contact becomes detectable.
AgSnO2 gold-plated contacts cover power-level and signal-level switching
The same contact set is rated AC-15 4A/240VAC — suitable for switching contactor coils — while also being reliable down to a 10 mA/5 V minimum load for low-level PLC input signals, avoiding false-contact issues at small currents.
Response time under 30 ms
From safety input trigger to output contact opening, DQSRN's response time is under 30 ms. Per the ISO 13855 minimum-distance formula, a faster response allows a guard device to be mounted closer to the hazard point.
Standard 45 mm DIN rail housing, wide-tolerance 24 VDC supply, 2.9 W
Snaps onto standard DIN rail in a control cabinet, accepts DC24V with a wide +10%/-20% tolerance, and draws only 2.9 W, keeping cabinet heat low.
Compatible controller option for DAIDISIKE's passive safety devices
DQSRN is listed in the DQSA passive safety light curtain catalog as one of several compatible controllers, and JT14 safety mats (a passive dry-contact device) are documented as requiring connection to a safety relay such as DQSRN.

How to Select
- If you need to monitor a transistor-type safety device signal (PNP/OSSD), choose the two-channel transistor/OSSD signal monitoring variant of DQSRN.
- If you need to monitor a normally-closed switch-type safety device, such as a mechanical safety door interlock switch, choose the two-channel N.C. switch monitoring variant of DQSRN.
- If you need to monitor a two-hand control device, choose DQSRP.
- If you need to switch between E-stop, light curtain OSSD, safety door interlock, and two-hand control inputs on one unit, choose the base DQSRN model with the 4-mode DIP switch.
- All documented versions operate on DC24V supply, so power-supply selection is compatible with standard PLC/relay-cabinet 24V sources.

When NOT to specify the DQSRN — and what to use instead
Needing a device that itself senses a light-curtain beam break, e-stop pull, or door position
Why not: DQSRN is a downstream relay module that monitors the DIP-switch-selected input signal from an existing safety device; it does not sense anything on its own.
Use instead: Pair DQSRN with a DAIDISIKE light curtain (DQC/DQA/DQT/DQT4), a DX safety door lock, or an e-stop pushbutton wired to its input
Panel space is extremely tight and DIN-rail width must be minimized
Why not: DQSRN's housing is a standard 45 mm wide DIN-rail module per the primary source table, not an ultra-slim design.
Use instead: DA31 (22.6 mm ultra-slim housing)
Two-hand control device monitoring is the only function needed and a dedicated single-purpose module is preferred
Why not: DQSRN's base model covers e-stop/OSSD/door interlock via DIP switch, while two-hand control monitoring is documented as a separate model in the same series.
Use instead: DQSRP
A safety file requires one single, internally consistent response-time/IP/dimension figure with no source conflicts
Why not: Our own source catalogs give two different figures for response time (<30ms vs <15ms), enclosure rating (IP30 vs IP50), and housing dimensions (45mm DIN-rail vs 117x100x22.5mm) across document versions.
Use instead: Confirm the exact figures for the specific unit version with the factory before finalizing documentation
The connected safety input device has its own PL or Category rating lower than Cat.4/PLe
Why not: DQSRN is specified to achieve Cat.4/PLe/SIL3 on its own, but per EN ISO 13849-1 the achieved PL of the overall safety function depends on every component in the chain, not the relay alone.
Use instead: Verify the PL/Category of every component in the safety chain before assuming the system reaches Cat.4/PLe
