Overview
DQT4 is a series of opto-electronic safety light curtains, named per the catalogue as the "4级安全光幕" ("Level 4") series in our range. The catalogue documents it as designed to the Type 4 architecture of EN/IEC 61496-1/-2 and GB/T 19436-1/-2, and to PLe / Category 4 of ISO 13849-1 (SIL3 per the same reference). It uses a 9-pin wiring interface and is available in three beam-pitch grades — 7.5 mm, 15 mm, and 30 mm — with a corresponding detection accuracy (minimum detectable object, per the catalogue's own parameter table) of 14 mm, 21 mm, and 36 mm respectively, described in the catalogue as finger, hand, and arm/body protection. It is intended for machine builders, panel integrators, and end users who need to guard press brakes, punch/stamping presses, and automated cells with a light curtain rather than mechanical guarding. Certification documents are available on request.
The series offers the finest beam pitch and the widest beam-count/height range in our light-curtain lineup: a 7.5 mm pitch (14 mm detection accuracy) at the fine end, and configurable protective heights from 90 mm up to 5970 mm at the large end. The 7.5 mm grade spans 15 to 319 beams (step 8), the 15 mm grade spans 8 to 200 beams (step 4), and the 30 mm grade offers a standalone 4-beam model plus 8 to 200 beams (step 4), letting a single series cover point-of-operation guarding from precision stamping to large machine perimeter access. Up to three DQT4 units can be cascaded, and each unit provides dual independent, self-diagnosing OSSD outputs.
Features & Benefits
Finest beam pitch in our light-curtain range: 7.5 mm (14 mm detection accuracy)
The 7.5 mm beam pitch — paired with a catalogue-stated 14 mm detection accuracy (minimum detectable object) — is the finest-resolution grade across our light-curtain product line, allowing the curtain to be mounted closer to the hazard point per ISO 13855's resolution-based minimum-distance principle.
Three resolution grades in one series
7.5 mm (finger), 15 mm (hand), and 30 mm (arm) grades let a single series cover point-of-operation guarding needs from precision stamping to large-machine perimeter access.
Wide beam-count and protective-height range
The model list spans from 4 beams / 90 mm protective height (DQT4 04/30-90) up to 319 beams / 2385 mm (7.5 mm grade, DQT4 319/7.5-2385) and 200 beams / 5970 mm (30 mm grade, DQT4 200/30-5970), covering both small point-of-operation guards and large protective areas within one series.
Standard dedicated end-mounting kit
Each DQT4 unit ships with the DQT4-09 mounting kit (top-and-bottom fixing) as standard, with DQCA-01/02/03/05 general-purpose mounting brackets also compatible for alternative installation geometries.
Pairs with our own safety relay line for a single-source solution
The same catalogue that documents DQT4 also documents our DQSRN safety relays and DA31 emergency-stop relays, so a buyer building a complete safety circuit (light curtain + relay + E-stop) can source the whole chain from one supplier.
Systematic, predictable model naming for easy specification
The DQT4 model code directly encodes beam count, resolution, and protective height (DQT4 + beam count / resolution - protective height), so specifiers can read a part number and know exactly what geometry they are ordering without needing a separate lookup table.

39 standard models at 7.5 mm pitch · 138 across the series. Protective height is derived as H = (N − 1) × K. Intermediate beam counts can usually be built to order — send the opening height you need to cover.
How to read the DQT4 model code
How to Select
- Choose 7.5 mm (finger detection) for hazards where a finger or small body part could enter the danger zone; it supports the closest safety-distance mounting of the three grades and is available in beam counts 15 to 319 (step 8).
- Choose 15 mm (hand detection) for hazards where hand/palm-level intrusion is the relevant risk; available beam counts are 8 to 200 (step 4).
- Choose 30 mm (arm detection) for larger openings where arm-level intrusion is the relevant risk and maximum protective height is needed; available as a single 4-beam/90 mm model or 8 to 200 beams (step 4).
- Match the protective height to the physical height of the opening to be guarded; beam count and height are fixed together per resolution grade in the model list, so the model number is selected as a pair.
- All DQT4 models use a 9-pin wiring interface; output-signal details should be confirmed with the factory before final specification.
- Select mounting accessories: the DQT4-09 end-mounting kit ships as standard, with DQCA-01/02/03/05 general-purpose brackets compatible where an alternative mounting geometry is needed.
- Pair DQT4 with our DQSRN safety relay or DA31 emergency-stop relay if a complete safety control circuit is required; final circuit design should follow the relay manufacturer's wiring instructions and the machine's risk assessment.

When NOT to specify the DQT4 — and what to use instead
You need finer-than-14 mm object detection
Why not: DQT4's finest beam pitch is 7.5 mm, but the catalogue's own detection-accuracy (minimum detectable object) figure at that pitch is 14 mm, not 7.5 mm — the 7.5 mm number is only the beam spacing, not the smallest object the curtain reliably detects.
Use instead: Confirm the required detection capability against your ISO 13855 risk assessment; ask us if an even finer-resolution series is required for your application.
Standard perimeter or access guarding where Type-4-level resolution is not required
Why not: DQT4 is the finest-pitch, most fully-featured series in our light-curtain range (multi-set cascading, dual self-diagnosing OSSD outputs, EDM, muting/override, blanking); for straightforward hand/arm-level area guarding without a finger-level requirement, that feature set and resolution may be more than the application needs.
Use instead: The DQC standard-range safety light curtain, or the DQA long-distance series, where fine Type 4 resolution is not the deciding requirement.
The required transmitter-to-receiver span is beyond what DQT4's documented sensing distance covers
Why not: The DQT4 parameter table lists a 0-6000 mm detection distance, and the model-code sensing-distance options are only A (0.3-3 m) and C (0.3-6 m); it is not documented for longer spans.
Use instead: Confirm the exact required span with us; the DQA long-distance safety light curtain series is the catalogue's dedicated long-range option.
Washdown, high-pressure hosing, or wet/outdoor environments
Why not: The DQT4 housing is rated IP65 — dust-tight and protected against low-pressure water jets, but not against high-pressure jetting or immersion.
Use instead: The DQR waterproof safety light curtain series for wet or washdown areas.
Ambient temperature outside -10 to +55 degrees C, or condensing conditions
Why not: The DQT4 operating range is -10 to +55 degrees C. Outside that band, or where the optical faces can condense or ice over, detection is not guaranteed.
Use instead: A heated or sheltered enclosure that holds the curtain within spec, or confirm a wide-temperature option with us.
The machine control needs a relay (volt-free) output
Why not: The DQT4 parameter table documents NPN/PNP transistor output only (sink current 500 mA, residual voltage under 1.5 V); a relay/volt-free contact output is not listed among DQT4's confirmed output options in the source material.
Use instead: Confirm relay-output availability with us before ordering, or drive our DA31 emergency-stop safety relay module from DQT4's OSSD outputs to obtain volt-free contacts downstream.
Specifications we do not publish yet
We only publish a figure once we are confident it is true. The items below are still being validated through further testing and real-world customer feedback, so for now we would rather leave them open than guess. If one of them matters to your design, ask us for the latest validated status.
- PFHd and DCavg figures for a full ISO 13849-1 / IEC 61508 machine-safety calculation. The catalogue states PLe / Category 4 / SIL3 and an MTTFd of 99 years, but does not publish PFHd or DCavg.
- TUV and UL certificate numbers and their exact scope (which DQT4 models/configurations are covered). Certification documents are available on request.
- ISO 13855 safety-distance calculation guidance and the exact response time per beam count — the catalogue gives only the <= 20 ms overall maximum.
- Relay (volt-free) output availability — the parameter table documents NPN/PNP transistor output only; whether a relay-output variant exists for DQT4 (as the "J" code does for other series in the catalogue) needs confirming.
- Whether the 0.3-6 m sensing-distance option (model-code letter C) is actually orderable for every beam-count/pitch combination, since the full model list in the catalogue prints only "0.3-3 m" for every row shown.
- The difference between the DQCA and DQCA2 controllers, and which DQT4 configurations require an external controller versus operating stand-alone.
- Cable length options and the full 9-pin aviation-connector pinout, beyond the two wiring examples documented (PNP dual-output, NPN dual-output).
- The special-mark suffix "M" ("advanced function") is named in the model-code diagram but not defined elsewhere in the catalogue; its actual function needs confirming
