Overview

DAIDISIKE's explosion-proof safety light curtain is a build-to-order product: the optical sensing core from an existing DAIDISIKE safety light curtain series (DQA, DQB, DQBK, DQC, DQE, DQL, DQM, DQQ, DQT, DQZ) is rehoused in a welded-steel explosion-proof enclosure, so machine builders and plant engineers working in hazardous, flammable-gas, or combustible-dust zones can keep familiar optical performance while adding explosion protection. Model numbers follow the customer's existing on-site light curtain configuration, for example FB-DQA08-200-1400, so the unit drops into an already-planned machine guarding layout.

The explosion-proof enclosure is welded from steel plate, shot-blasted and electrostatically powder-coated in a dedicated two-tone finish, and is engineered to GB3836-2010 with an Ex nR IIC T6 Gc, Ex tb IIIC T80°C protection marking. Cabling exits through a G1/2 (NPT1/2, DN15) explosion-proof gland rated for cable outer diameters of 7-10mm, and each unit ships with a standard 2m explosion-proof flexible conduit for the wiring run out of the hazardous area.

  1. Tell us your existing on-site light curtain model (series, beam count, resolution, protection height) so the explosion-proof housing and internal optics can be matched, e.g. FB-DQA08-200-1400.
  2. Confirm the hazardous-area classification required for your site so the Ex nR IIC T6 Gc, Ex tb IIIC T80°C marking can be checked against local requirements.
  3. Specify the cable run length and routing if you need more than the standard 2m explosion-proof flexible conduit.
  4. Add an optional rain cover if the unit will be installed outdoors and exposed to direct weather.

When NOT to specify the Explosion-proof — and what to use instead

You need a stock, off-the-shelf light curtain

Why not: This is a build-to-order product: an explosion-protection steel enclosure is engineered and welded around a standard DAIDISIKE curtain to order. It is quoted per project, not held in stock, and lead time reflects the custom fabrication.

Use instead: A standard through-beam safety light curtain (DQC, DQA, DQT or DQT4) for ordinary, non-hazardous areas.

Deploying in a hazardous (explosive) atmosphere without confirming the zone certificate

Why not: The enclosure is engineered to GB3836-2010 with an Ex nR IIC T6 Gc / Ex tb IIIC T80 degrees C design marking, but an Ex design marking is not a substitute for a valid explosion-protection certificate covering your specific gas/dust zone, temperature class and region (GB3836 in China; ATEX / IECEx elsewhere). Installing Ex-marked equipment in an explosive atmosphere without the matching certificate is unsafe and, in most jurisdictions, unlawful.

Use instead: Confirm the applicable zone, gas/dust group and temperature class with us in writing, and obtain the explosion-protection certificate for that configuration, before ordering or installing.

The hazardous area requires ATEX or IECEx marking rather than GB3836

Why not: The published design basis is the Chinese GB3836-2010 standard. ATEX (EU) and IECEx (international) are separate certification schemes.

Use instead: Tell us the destination market and its required scheme; do not assume GB3836 is accepted in an ATEX or IECEx jurisdiction without written confirmation.

High-pressure washdown or continuous immersion

Why not: The enclosure is engineered for wall-mounted outdoor installation (rain cover optional); its water-ingress rating for jetting or immersion is not published.

Use instead: Confirm the enclosure's IP rating for your wash regime with us, or use the DQR / DQRF waterproof series in non-hazardous wet areas.
