Overview
BX is a background-suppression (BGS) photoelectric switch family covering two detection ranges - the BX-H4000 (adjustable 50-4000 mm, invisible infrared, retro-reflective-comparable range) and the BX-G2000 / BX-S2000 (adjustable 30-2000 mm diffuse reflective, LED wide spot or laser small spot).
BX-H4000 is available in NPN or PNP; BX-G2000/BX-S2000 are NPN (PNP unconfirmed), with switchable N.O./N.C. logic and 2 ms response time, running on DC12-24V. It is built for engineers who need reliable single-sided object detection at a distance where a standard diffuse sensor would lose reliability or need a reflector, but who cannot or prefer not to run wiring to an opposite-side receiver or mount a reflective target.

Background suppression at up to 4 meters from one side
The BX-H4000 covers a 50-4000 mm adjustable sensing range without a reflector or opposite-side receiver. The manual specifies minimal black/white distance variation within 2000 mm, meaning target color and reflectivity have little effect on the set point in that zone.
Three optical versions matched to different targets
BX-H4000 uses invisible infrared for maximum 4 m reach. BX-G2000 uses a wide visible-red LED spot suited to uneven or slightly shifting target surfaces and easy visual alignment. BX-S2000 uses a 2-3 mm visible laser spot for pinpoint accuracy at range.
2 ms response time across the series
All three BX models respond in 2 ms, suitable for detecting moving targets on conveyors and sorting lines without missed triggers.
Selectable N.O./N.C. output logic
Output logic (Light-ON/Dark-ON) is switchable via the white wire, so the same unit can be wired for either target-present-ON or target-present-OFF logic without ordering a different part.
Adjustable sensing distance on every model
Sensing range is field-adjustable across the full rated window - 50-4000 mm on H4000, 30-2000 mm on G2000/S2000 - letting the same sensor be set for different mounting distances on a line.

How to Select
- Need up to 4 m single-sided detection with no reflector: choose BX-H4000 (50-4000 mm adjustable).
- Need up to 2 m diffuse detection: choose BX-G2000 or BX-S2000 (30-2000 mm adjustable).
- Target surface is uneven or shifting and you want a visible alignment spot: choose BX-G2000 (wide visible-red spot).
- Need pinpoint accuracy at range with a visible reference: choose BX-S2000 (2-3 mm laser spot).
- Need maximum reach and don't need a visible beam: choose BX-H4000 (invisible IR).
- All BX models are NPN output with N.O./N.C. switchable via the white wire, so confirm your controller's input type before wiring.
- All models run on DC12-24V, so confirm your control cabinet's available DC rail matches before installation.
- All three models share the same 2 ms response time, so choose based on range and optics rather than response speed.

When NOT to specify the BX — and what to use instead
Outdoor installation, washdown, or any environment with dust/water exposure
Why not: No IP ingress-protection rating is published anywhere in the current BX series data.
Use instead: confirm an IP rating with us first, or choose a sensor with a published rating such as the BGS-CX61 (IP67) or the strip-beam DK-D461/D561 (IP65)
A PNP output is required on the diffuse BX-G2000 or BX-S2000 models
Why not: Only the NPN output is confirmed in the current catalog for BX-G2000/BX-S2000; PNP availability for these two is unconfirmed.
Use instead: the BX-H4000 (confirmed NPN and PNP), or confirm PNP availability with us directly for G2000/S2000
Mounting distance under 50 mm (BX-H4000) or under 30 mm (BX-G2000/S2000)
Why not: The published adjustable ranges start at 50 mm for BX-H4000 and 30 mm for BX-G2000/S2000 - these are not close-range sensors.
Use instead: a background-suppression model built for close range, e.g. BGS-CX441 (10-100 mm adjustable)
Detecting very small parts or positioning against a narrow feature at long range
Why not: No minimum detectable object size is published for the BX series; the family is built for long single-sided reach, not sub-spot precision.
Use instead: the strip-beam DK-D461/D561 for narrow-target detection, or a small-spot background-suppression sensor such as BGS-CX61
