Overview
The JD Series is a connector-terminated variant of DAIDISIKE's D6.5 inductive proximity sensor family. Instead of a permanently attached cable, each sensor ends in an M8 (3-pin) or M12 (4-pin) circular connector, to which the customer attaches their own mating cable.
It is built for machine builders, panel integrators, and maintenance teams who need a small-diameter (6.5mm) inductive sensor in tight mounting spaces, but who also want the sensor itself to be a plug-and-play spare part, swappable on the machine floor without opening a junction box or re-terminating wires.

Field-replaceable without rewiring
The M8/M12 connector lets maintenance staff swap a failed sensor by unplugging the old unit and plugging in a new one, instead of cutting and re-terminating a fixed cable inside a panel or conduit.
Slim 6.5mm probe for confined installations
At just 6.5mm in outer diameter, the probe fits mounting holes and fixture spaces too tight for standard M8/M12-threaded sensors.
Both flush and non-flush mounting options
Flush versions can be mounted embedded in metal without interference from surrounding material; non-flush (T-suffix) versions offer a longer sensing distance where clearance around the probe is available.
Sensing distance up to 6mm on non-flush M8/M12 variants
The 60mm (M8) and 70mm (M12) length variants offer non-flush sensing distances of 2mm, 4mm, and 6mm, giving more detection margin than the flush versions.
Both NPN and PNP, NO and NC outputs available
Every length/distance variant is offered in NPN or PNP, normally-open (1) or normally-closed (2) output, matching either sinking or sourcing PLC input cards.

How to Select
- Choose the connector/body size first: D6.5-M8-45mm (M8 3-pin, flush only, 1mm or 2mm sensing distance), D6.5-M8-60mm (M8 3-pin, flush 1/2/3mm or non-flush 2/4/6mm), D6.5-M12-53mm (M12 4-pin, flush 1mm or 2mm, or non-flush 2mm), or D6.5-M12-70mm (M12 4-pin, flush 1/2/3mm or non-flush 2/4/6mm).
- Choose flush mounting (no T suffix) if the sensor will be embedded in metal with no clearance needed around the probe; choose non-flush mounting (T suffix) if clearance is available and a longer sensing distance is required.
- Match the sensing-distance code in the model number to your required detection gap: flush variants offer 1mm, 2mm, or 3mm; non-flush variants offer 2mm, 4mm, or 6mm. A larger sensing distance tolerates more target-mounting variation but needs more non-magnetic-metal clearance around the probe.
- Select NPN (N) or PNP (P) output to match whether your PLC input card is sinking or sourcing.
- Select normally-open (1/NO) or normally-closed (2/NC) output to match whether the signal should activate when a target is present or absent.
- Select body length based on installation space: standard lengths (45mm/53mm) suit limited-depth mounting, while extended lengths (60mm/70mm) provide access to the wider sensing-distance options (including 4mm and 6mm) or deeper mounting depths.
- Confirm your supply and load: the JD Series operates on 10-30VDC with a maximum load current of 150mA, so verify your PLC or relay input current falls within this range.

When NOT to specify the JD — and what to use instead
Detecting plastic, wood, liquid, or other non-metallic parts
Why not: This is an inductive sensor built to detect metal targets; no non-metallic detection rating is listed.
Use instead: A capacitive proximity sensor series, which can detect non-metallic and liquid targets.
Application needs more than 6mm sensing distance
Why not: The maximum sensing distance across the JD series is 6mm, available only on non-flush 60mm (M8) / 70mm (M12) variants.
Use instead: The JM-series M18/M30 connector sensors, rated up to 40mm sensing distance.
Installation space shorter than the shortest available connector body (45mm for M8, 53mm for M12)
Why not: The shortest body length listed for this connector-terminated D6.5 line is 45mm (M8 connector) / 53mm (M12 connector); no shorter connector-terminated D6.5 length is offered.
Use instead: DAIDISIKE's cable-terminated D6.5 series (18mm ultra-short or Y-type body) if a fixed factory cable is acceptable in place of a connector.
Preference for a factory-terminated cable rather than a separate mating cordset
Why not: This series terminates in an M8 (3-pin) or M12 (4-pin) circular connector rather than a molded cable, so a separate mating cable/cordset must be sourced and wired.
Use instead: The standard D6.5 series, which is supplied with a factory-terminated 2m cable.
Driving a load current above the sensor's rated output directly
Why not: Maximum load current is rated at 150mA with a 180mA overload protection trip point.
Use instead: An interposing relay between the sensor output and higher-current loads such as contactor coils.
Machine-guard interlocking or any personnel-safety function
